Learn Japanese Online - Hello Minasan meet again with me as Japanese teacher. Now I hope gradually that your nihongo become fluent. In this article, I will share you about basic Japanese which is very useful for your JLPT level especially N5. The use of this language is important because there will be many form changes that require changing the verb into the form te (て). I usually called this form as テ形 tekei but I don't know in your Japanese classroom. Shall we begin about how to change verbs in Japanese into the form te !!
The verb conjugation of the te て form or better known as tekei (て 形).て form verbs are changes to Japanese verbs that are needed for various things such as telling, command, order, and so on. Later, minasan will learn how to order or forbid in Japanese, but first minasan must learn to change the verb form tekei (テ形). Minasan already knows that Japanese has three groups of verbs, namely the first verb, the second verb and the third verb. Immediately, let's see how the form of each verb changes!
First Verb
In the first verb, I made two ways how to change the first verb into the te て form, which is seen from the dictionary form or the masukei form ま す 形. For those who have not yet learned the dictionary form, look at the conjugation in the Masukei form ま す 形.
1. Conjugation of Verbs in Dictionary Form to Tekei Forms て 形
The first thing minasan has to do is look at the verb ending that I have given a red mark and then conjugate it.
言-う / い-う (to say) ⇨ change hiragana う to って ⇨ 言って / いって
変-わる / か-わる (to be changed) ⇨ change hiragana る to って ⇨ 変わって / かわって
行-く / い-く (to go) ⇨ change hiragana く to って ⇨ 行って / いって
話-す / はな-す (to speak) ⇨ change hiragana す to して ⇨ 話して / はなして
泳-ぐ / およぐ (to swim) ⇨ change hiragana ぐ to いで ⇨ 泳いで / およいで
読 む / よむ (to read) ⇨ change hiragana む to んで ⇨ 読んで / よんで
呼ぶ / よぶ (to call, to summon) ⇨ change hiragana ぶ to んで ⇨ 呼んで / よんで
2. Conjugate Verbs in the Masukei Form ま す 形 to the Tekei Form て 形.
The first is that minasan must look at hiragana before hiragana ます because that is the key to the form of conjugation for friends who have learned to masukei. Look at the example below!
言 い ま す / い い ま す (to say)
変 わ り ま す / か わ り ま す (to change)
行 き ま す / い き ま す (to leave)
話 し ま す / は な し ま す (to speak)
泳 ぎ ま す / お よ ぎ ま す (to swim)
読 み ま す / よ み ま す (to read)
呼 び ま す / よ び ま す (to call)
Next, after minasan knows hiragana before ま す, minasan has to remove ま す in the verb. For example, as shown below!
Third, if you have gotten the hiragana letter before ま す, then it is conjugated to tekei.
Second Verb
Next up is the second verb conjugation. To abbreviate the article, I will just combine the dictionary form and the Masukei form. The second verb is identical to hiragana べ before the ending る or ま す. However there are other examples of different second verbs such as 見 ま す / み ま す (to see). Let see how to conjugate tekei form in second verb.
Dictionary form
見 る / み る (view) ⇨ exchange or erase る then add て ⇨ 見 て / み て
調 べ る / し ら べ る (search) ⇨ exchange or erase る then add て ⇨ 調 べ て / し ら べ て
食 べ る / た べ る (eat) ⇨ exchange or erase る then add て ⇨ 食 べ て / た べ て
Masukei form
見 ま す / み ま す (to see) ⇨ Cross or erase ま す then add て ⇨ 見 て / み て
調 べ ま す / し ら べ ま す (search) ⇨ Cross or delete ま す then add て ⇨ 調 べ て / し ら べ て
食 べ ま す / た べ ま す (to eat) ⇨ Cross or erase ま す then add て ⇨ 食 べ て / た べ て
Third Verb
Usually this third verb has a special characteristic, that is the suffix suru or shimasu. But there are also verbs that fall into the third category, namely kuru or kimasu verbs.
Conjugate Dictionary Forms into Te Form て
来 る / く る (to come) ⇨ Cross or erase る then add て ⇨ 来 て / く て
す る (to do) ⇨ Cross or delete す る then add し て ⇨ し て
食 事 す る / し ょ く じ す る (to eat) ⇨ exchange or delete す る then add し て ⇨ 食 事 し て
勉強 す る / べ ん き ょ う す る (to study) ⇨ exchange or erase す る then add し て ⇨ 勉強 し て
Conjugating the Enterei Form into the Te て Form
来 ま す / き ま す (to come) ⇨ Cross or erase ま す then add て ⇨ 来 て / く て
し ま す (to do) ⇨ Cross or erase ま す then add て ⇨ 勉強 し て
食 事 し ま す / し ょ く じ し ま す (eat) ⇨ Cross or delete し ま す then add て ⇨ 食 事 し て
面 接 し ま す / め ん せ つ し ま す (to interview) ⇨ Cross or erase し ま す then add て ⇨ 勉強 し て
Have minasan understood how to conjugate the form te て? In Japanese, there are actually many examples that I can give to minasan, but if I give them all, how do minasan want to learn to find something new? I hope minasan can find more examples of verbs in Japanese. If in this article there is an error, I as a writer apologize profusely and don't forget to comment so that I can correct it immediately. Finally, thank you for visiting and see you in the next article.
